2021 Victorian Caravan, Camping & Touring Supershow Postponed

Caravan Industry Victoria announced on 27 October 2020 that the Victorian Caravan, Camping & Touring Supershow, scheduled for February 2021 will be postponed.

Even though Victoria is emerging from the current restrictions and hopefully moving to COVID-19 normal in the coming weeks and months there is still little information around outdoor events, and how they may operate in the coming months. As a result, Caravan Industry Victoria can confirm it will postpone the 2021 Victorian Caravan, Camping & Touring Supershow to a later date in 2021.

At the Association’s Council Meetings (Association’s Board) the council discussed the matter in detail. In evaluating the current situation the Association’s Board had no other option than to postpone the 2021 Victorian Caravan, Camping & Touring Supershow.

Chief Executive Rob Lucas said “We must comply with the current Victorian Government restrictions to keep everyone safe. We are committed to supporting our industry and providing events to help business connect with consumers in a new COVID normal, but in these times, while we are still easing our way out of restrictions the Victorian State Government can’t guarantee we can make the strategic moves required to deliver consumers the State’s biggest caravan and camping show.”

“The current restrictions have led to challenges across the industry, exhibitors, members, and consumers can rest assured we are and will continue to lobby the Victorian State Government to ease restrictions for outdoor caravan and camping shows, and to allow them to operate in a COVID safe manner, ensuring that businesses in the industry can showcase and sell their products, while the consumer can prepare for their holidays which ultimately boosts the local economy”.

The good news is members and exhibitors alike continue to see strong sales and inquiries which is fantastic. As the Premier eases restrictions, businesses can start addressing the issues created by the lockdowns including closures and reduction of staffing. Ultimately the Association wants to see business back to full capacity.

For anyone wishing to explore options in one place, the Victorian Caravan & Camping Virtual Show has been extended until November 5, 2020, to provide some assistance to those looking for products and services. You can visit the show by clicking here.
