Sam Johnson, winner of the 2019 Dancing With The Stars and 2017 Gold Logie is taking off another trip-of-a-lifetime thanks to Avan Caravans and VW Berwick.

TWO YEAR TRIP

This time Sam and his charity Love Your Sister are heading off on a two year trek around Australia to raise funds for this worthy charity.

In 2014 Sam took off on a year-long 20,000km unicycle trip around the country to raise $1 million for research into breast cancer.

So far, after various fund-raising efforts Samuel and his Love Your Sister team have raised $9,300,000.  The goal is $10 million plus with every cent raised going directly to research. Heading to Queensland from Melbourne first Sam wonders which town the $10 millionth dollar will be donated in.

“The plan is to set up in every town we visit, to cold-call on people, knock on doors and get the know the locals.  We will be setting up our merchandise trailer outside IGA Stores as we go,” said Sam.

200 COMMUNITIES AND ADDING

So far Sam has managed to visit 200 different communities on his initial lap of the country. He intends to add 700 more – no matter how big or how small, the Love Your Sister movement will be happy to drop by and say hello.

Avan have gladly come on board with two beautiful RVs for Sam and his crew.

A blind-folded Sam was led up the road to Avan’s Pakenham showroom before he was overwhelmed when shown the extent Avan had gone to get him around the country.  Sam will be travelling in a luxurious motorhome where he will be eating, sleeping and podcasting for the next two years.

His crew will be following him in an equally comfortable Avan Caravan.

“It was a no-brainer when Samuel approached us about helping him out. We’re a family business and with this being a charity that’s all about families then we had to get involved,” said Scott Van Baardwyck, Managing Director, Avan Caravans.
