Lotus Caravan’s Off-Grid – On Point!

Nobody says it better than Lotus when talking about their Off Grid: Designed with the adventurous family in mind, the 2020 Off Grid packs the best of off-road living and luxury into a versatile family van.

I’ve travelled in an Off Grid, in fact my husband and I took the Off Grid that we took to Cape York from Melbourne to cairns for the trip. I can say, without a doubt, it was one of the most comfortable vans I’ve been in. Now, with the new 2020 models available, they’re getting better if you can believe it!

Externally, the Off Grid is a tough-as-nails, while creating a luxury home-away-from-home. With triple panel solar, battery system and abundant water storage you can enjoy family-friendly camping in the most remote places.

The unique hybrid frame incorporates aluminium in the front, back and roof with a strong timber wall construction and marine grade composite panels to withstand any conditions thrown its way.

The interior is modern furniture and has state-of-the-art appliances with reverse cycle air-con and heating. Premium bench tops and unique interlocking cabinetry finish off this stylish family van. With a Fusion premium entertainment system and an endless hot water service, the Off Grid will keep the entire family happy.

As the Lotus website says, “This van is built to be put through its paces. so tough it practically dares you to throw anything at it, and once you’re done, it asks for more.” And we did just that on our Cape York trip. The result – amazing. The Off Grid literally took everything we put it through without a hitch.

Sporting BF Goodrich’s toughest all-terrain tyres on custom 17′ Lotus Caravans wheels, combined with heavy duty Control Rider twin shock suspension. Gabriel shockers and 12′ off-road brakes, the Off Grid is easy to tow in even the most challenging conditions.

Lotus offer 10 Off Grid floor plans but they are well aware that not everybody needs bunks or has the same requirements. Therefore, there is the opportunity to change floor plans to suit your needs.

There’s no doubting Lotus’ dedication to an excellent build to enhance your experience while exploring this vast land of ours. And the Off Grid might be the van that’s perfect for you. It certainly was for us.

Oh, and by the way, I can spend hours on the Lotus website, exploring each van and building my own. It’s definitely worth checking out.
