BALLARAT TRANSFORMS INTO A SUMMER PLAYGROUND FOR BIG KIDS – AND BIG KIDS WITH KIDS – THIS FEBRUARY

Live music, fine food, craft beer plus elite and extreme sports will be the focus of Ballarat’s bumper line-up of events this February.

In a coup for the city, Mars Stadium will host live action sports spectacular Nitro Circus on Saturday 29 February. The Ballarat event is already the best-selling regional Australian show in Nitro’s 10-year history.

Ballarat’s summer calendar of events also features the family-friendly Super Sunday of Sport (16 February) and the Ballarat Beer Festival (15 February).

And while you’re in Ballarat entertain the kids at Sovereign Hill, Kryal Castle and the Art

Gallery of Ballarat; explore the great outdoors at the Lake Wendouree Adventure Playground; cuddle a koala at the Ballarat Wildlife Park; and indulge in an icy cold treat at Il Piccolo Gelato.

This February (22 February) we also celebrate the first-ever National Raspberry Drop day. From raspberry drop lemon meringue cakes, to raspberry drop dessert pizzas, Ballarat businesses have joined forces with Sovereign Hill to celebrate the city’s famous hard-boiled lolly.

“There’s no better way to spend your summer than in Ballarat,” City of Ballarat Mayor Cr Ben Taylor said.
