Fees halved on all Parks Victoria campsite bookings
Fees on all Parks Victoria campsite bookings have halved, including at campgrounds formally described as ‘Premium’ such as Tidal River in Wilsons Prom.
Powered peak season fees at the popular campground dropped to less than $40 per night for one vehicle and six guests, with many other campsites now $15.30 a night state-wide.
National park patrons will receive refunds on all affected 2019-2020 bookings, with Parks Victoria pledging to honour the bookings despite the change.
According to Parks Victoria, cabins, lodges, huts, cottages and other fixed roof options aren’t affected and all existing ballot systems will remain in place.
The new pricing structure falls under the 107.2 million dollar ‘The Great Outdoors Package’, targeting camping facilities and walking and driving tracks Victoria wide.
The Great Outdoors Package, rolled out over four years, will also finance upgrades to 30 existing campgrounds with another 30 new campgrounds planned.
