Magic Murray

Our Summer Series Guest Host Geoff ‘Coxy’ Cox reveals Why the Murray is a HIT in his house!

Hot on the heels of What’s Up Downunder’s Summer Series, team WUDU, special guest Geoff ‘Coxy’ Cox shared his favourite holiday touring region for CIL’s feel-good series, awesome camps.

Here we learn how Coxy’s penchant for ‘polishing the clubs’ fuels an ankling for sandier soils by the river.

“The Murray River area is a huge favourite for me, they have great golf courses,” Coxy explains.

Off the green, holidays for Coxy are family affairs. He appreciates caravan parks for their flexibility with room to pitch a tent or stretch out with family and friends in a large cabin.

“The parks have everything,” says Coxy.

“Mum can sit in a banana lounge around the pool while the kids have a fantastic time swimming.”

Coxy says vanners are real ‘Salt of the Earth’ people. “They just want to enjoy their time travelling and being with family.”

He remained tight-lipped on his favourite Murray camp, though we do have a few of our own including this one in Cohuna.

Why We Love Cohuna Waterfront Holiday Park?

A few years back, the What’s Up Downunder crew established camp at Cohuna Waterfront Holiday Park on the crystal shores of Gunbower Creek, a tributary from the Murray River. Its gentle waters are teeming with fish, just a line away from camp–or closer still aboard a tinnie via the campsite’s own ramp. No boat to float? Hire a kayak instead, and explore at your leisure. It’s family friendly too, with tennis and basketball courts for the older kids plus a jumping pillow, playground and pool for the tackers.

Coxy isn’t the only one who enjoys a hit. In this awesome What’s Up Downunder flashback clip, catch Macca club-hopping at some of the finest greens in the Murray River region.
