Farmgate to Festival: Kingaroy BaconFest Launches Behind-the-Scenes Regional Tour for 2025
Kingaroy BaconFest is among the most ‘crackling’ events on the Australian food festival calendar. Still, this year, it’s extending its flavour further by offering an exclusive Farmgate to Festival Regional Tour to the August program.
Meet the Makers of Kingaroy Baconfest
“We’re super excited to invite festivalgoers to enjoy the full South Burnett experience by allowing them to meet the makers in our region as part of this year’s 2025 Kingaroy BaconFest festivities,” says Chief Baconeer, Rob Fitz-Herbert.
“The pre-BaconFest tour will provide visitors and locals alike a chance to step behind the farm gate and discover the people, passion, produce and land that make South Burnett so unique.”

The exclusive bus tour will showcase six local farmers and provide punters a chance to learn and connect with the people behind the homegrown produce.
The farmers opening their gates on Friday, 15 August 2025, from 10am to 4pm include:
- Beauvale Australian Whites Stud sheep farm in Brooklands
- Minmore Fruits in Kumbia
- Clovely Estate winery in Moffatdale
- Chrissy Trees 4 U in Benair
- Bunya Range Lamb at the foothills of the Bunya Mountains
The bus tour will depart and return from Kingaroy, with the price including entry to BaconFest’s opening event – Bacon Street Feast, a laid-back, budget-friendly evening that will tantalise the tastebuds and have the town squealing with joy for the sixth year.
“BaconFest, which is proudly supported by SunPork and Australian Pork Limited (APL), draws visitors from across Queensland and interstate every year. We’re proud to be able to offer not only a ‘ham-packed’ food experience, but also some of Australia’s finest entertainment,” added Herbert.
Troy Cassar-Daley, a headline act
“We are incredibly excited to welcome one of Australia’s favourite country music legends, Troy Cassar-Daley, to the festival this year. He will be headlining a concert on Saturday night and will be joined by Kingaroy musician Amber Goldsmith, and plenty of others.”
Celebrity chef and Weekender host, Alastair McLeod will return to the cooking stage for another year, and he’ll be hosting cooking demonstrations, and ‘bacon’ everybody’s weekend that much more enjoyable.
