Australian Truffle Traders are now digging up premium black truffles daily in Manjimup, marking the start of what promises to be a standout season.

“Ample rain at just the right time means this could be our best harvest in years,” says Gavin Booth, who runs the family business alongside his wife and daughter.

Even without the annual Truffle Kerfuffle, truffle lovers can still indulge–either by ordering online for delivery within 48 hours or by visiting in person for a truffle hunt followed by a decadent lunch at their café and test kitchen, Hound & Hunter.

Truffle hunts offer the rare opportunity to follow skilled dogs like Gidgee, Max, and Ruby through oak and hazelnut orchards to uncover truffles beneath the forest floor. “People get blown away when they smell the truffle through the soil,” says Booth. “There’s something magical about carefully brushing away the dirt to reveal a perfectly formed truffle.”

Back at Hound & Hunter, guests are treated to a full truffle tasting experience–a popular addition to the offering since last year. “We introduced truffle tastings at Hound & Hunter and everyone loved it,” says Booth. “It really completes the hunt experience. You’ve just found the truffle, now you get to taste it in all its glory.”

The tasting includes generous samples of freshly baked focaccia slathered in truffle butter, silky truffle pâté, rich truffle cheese, and more. One favourite is the truffle cheese toastie, now with a cult following.

“It’s rich, decadent and served with a small truffle and slicer so you can shave your own truffle over the top–people absolutely love the interaction and indulgence of it.”

Cold packed for Fast Shipping

For those further afield, fresh truffles can be ordered online from Australian Truffle Traders. They’re carefully cleaned, graded, sealed and cold-packed for express delivery across Australia–typically arriving within 48 hours. To avoid weekend delays, interstate orders are shipped on Mondays and Tuesdays.
