Eye Popping Kalbarri
With two new stunning skywalks, the Huths delved deeper into Kalbarri, home to the iconic nature’s window.
This place is extraordinary, there is no other way to describe it. Two bucket-list items on one day, both amazing and unforgettable.
The Skywalks
The two Skywalks were built off site and transported to the park where they were installed. They literally hang out in space, 100m up. One juts out 25m over the edge and the other is smaller jutting out 15m.
They are just amazing. The style is a delight, good clean lines, a feeling of space all around. You know they are solid and made with heaps of steel, but they don’t feel like it. They feel open and almost as if you are hanging in clear air. The view of the Gorge and the park itself is breathtaking. We stood there for so long, it began to feel like home! One of the added things are the animals. When you walk to the Skywalks you see an animal here, and another one of there. They’re not real, but they look like they should be.
I particularly liked the Kalbarria Brimellea, it looked so real and its trail just added to the reality. How very clever. Eventually we made our way to the coffee shop and thoroughly enjoyed a very good coffee and something delicious for morning tea. The tables and benches are made of steel, and were just a little chilly that morning. Those of us wearing scarves very quickly repositioned them as seat warmers!
Nature’s Window
I have seen photos of this for so many years, and we finally made it. There is a bit of a walk to get there, and in some places the ‘path’ is more imaginary than real, but if I can get there, just about anyone can. It is quite simply a hole in a rock with a stunning view behind it. You couldn’t create a setting like that if you tried. Once again, Nature has shown her ability to do something amazing. Once we were there, and taking our turn along with everyone else the photos had to be taken. Jayne, myself and Majella were the first ones in front of the camera, and then it was time for all of us as couples.
Such a gorgeous setting and such a gorgeous photo. There are more walks that you can do from here, but we were all happy with the result of the walk we had done. After having ticked off two wonderful bucketlist items it was time to head back to the park and get ready for happy hour.
