Barellan Working Clydesdales and Heavy Horses Good Old Days Weekend

The annual Barellan Working Clydesdales and Heavy Horses “Good Old Days” Weekend is back in 2018 at the Barellan Showgrounds on Saturday the 29th and Sunday the 30th of September with lots to see and do for the whole family, from demonstrations and market stalls to live music, come and experience this unique slice of bush heritage.
Barellen is located in the Riverina region, an agricultural region of south-western New South Wales and is situated on the Burley Griffin Way 56km north of Narrandera.
The event features displays and competitions of working Clydesdales and heavy horse teams, as well as demonstrations of early farming techniques with vintage farm machinery, horse-drawn wagons, camel races, heritage home demonstrations and more!
Keeping the bush traditions alive, see the amazing bullock team and up to 26 beautiful Clydesdales in harness, pulling a huge wagon loaded high with 3.5 tons of wool bales. Experience first-hand the engaging rural heritage and learn about how generations before us lived and worked on the land. This event is unique in that it showcases traditions you won’t find in many other parts of Australia.
There is a great animal nursery for the kids, scone making in wood stoves, market stalls with country clothing, Akubra hats, jewellery, merchandise and souvenirs, great coffee and a bar operating (no BYO) with Barellan Beer on tap.
Self-contained camping on site is available at a very reasonable price, and on Saturday night enjoy a two-course camp oven and spit roast dinner plus entertainment throughout the whole weekend.
