A taste of Italy in the King Valley Wine Region
For all the foodies and wine lovers out there, the King Valley wine region is a must-visit destination of immense Italian culture and heritage. What was once a swaying landscape of tobacco plants seen only by locals and those heading for the Victorian Snow Fields, is now the premier Italian wine region in Australia, and where there is fine wine, there is sure to be good food.
Located less than an hour from the perennial Murray River destinations of Albury, Corowa and Mulwala, the King Valley is home to a number of wineries and vineyards, as well as plenty of other draw cards and attractions. From the hospitality in the village of Whitfield and the relaxed watersport activities – no powerboats or waterskiers – of Lake William Hovell, to Powers Lookout and the celebrated gourmet region of Milawa.
