Robby describes it so well when she talks about how the 12 Apostles were formed, standing tall in the water away from the sheer limestone cliffs that meet the Southern Ocean near Port Campbell.
Hang on, there isn’t 12 of the them, there’s only eight. Yes, Mother Nature has taken her toll on Victoria’s most famous rock formation. Just like the limestone cliffs next to the apostles the constant battering of salt water and the high winds have cause several of the apostles to erode and even collapse over the years.
But this doesn’t make them any less spectacular. The soaring cliffs don’t dwarf these massive rock stacks and its only when you get close that you really appreciate the splendour of them.
I’m just wondering, was there ever 12 of them?
