Much like you would at home, it is important to change the battery in your smoke alarm every year and do tests on a regular basis to make sure it is working. Keeping a fire blanket and fire extinguisher available near the door of the caravan is very important because if there is a fire in your van, these are the ways to put it out, never use water to try and put it out.

Your LPG gas cylinder and flammable liquids are stored outside the caravan and should be maintained and in good working order. Make sure all your gas cylinders and gas appliances are in the off position when towing. Electrical products should also be checked to make sure they are in good working order and that there are no cables that are broken or wires that are exposed.
