ONE YEAR ON AND STAYING OFF THE BEATEN TRACK

It has been a full year since the launch of OFF TRACK WINES®, which is crafted for adventurers. The brazen wine-in-a-can producer has been dodging the city and living it up at the coolest pubs in the outback.

Anna Fisher, one-half of the daring duo behind OFF TRACK WINES, could not help but grin about it: “You can find our wines anywhere that our trusty vintage H45 series Landcruiser ‘Borr’ takes us. From Adelaide to Darwin, through the Simpson Desert, and all the way to Kakadu and Bourke. We’ve sipped and shared stories with outback publicans who’ve embraced our wines. We’re chuffed that these pubs are now our best mates.”

OFF TRACK WINES are now being cracked at the Craddock Hotel, Transcontinental Hotel Oodnadatta, Mungerannie Roadhouse, Innamincka Hotel, Mt Dare Hotel, Larrimah Hotel, Berry Springs Tavern, Bark Hut Inn, and Birdsville Hotel. You cannot find them in city-slicker liquor stores – at least not for a while.

“OFF TRACK WINES are made especially for travelling to far-off places, so that is where we want to be too. Travelling remotely takes a lot of preparation. When our customers are planning supplies for a trip, they’re ordering our wines online for delivery to home, and now they can top up at those great outback pubs too.”

The small independent wine producer had a highly successful first year, and even accidentally created a new style of wine which increased their line up from five to six varieties.

“The wheels nearly fell off (well they did but that’s a whole other story^) when one production run of our bubbly wine didn’t have enough bubbles. The result was a delicious fruity white with a hint of spritz – so we created a new wine style called ‘THE ISLAND IS CALLING’ Frizzante White. Now it is one of our best sellers at 4WD and camping shows.”

The six varieties of OFF TRACK WINES INCLUDE:
The Outback is Calling Bubbly Red Wine
The River is Calling Bubbly White Wine
The Island is Calling Frizzante White Wine
The Desert is Calling White Wine
The Ocean is Calling Rosé Wine
The Mountains are Calling Red Wine

Pricing and availability: 12 x 250ml can, RRP $98.50 per carton, order via website, delivery to Australian addresses only.

^Note: Anna’s wheel actually did fall off her Landcruiser 200 series when she was about 20km outside of Bourke enroute from Birdsville to Sydney. This story will be told soon on their “Folklore” blog.
