Mt Larcom Tourist Park Best in Australia for Third Consecutive Year

A tourist park at the gateway to Queensland’s Gladstone Region has been crowned with Gold at Grey Nomad Awards.

Mt Larcom Tourist Park was announced as the Gold winner of the 2023 Best Small Caravan Park in Australia tonight.

This win, the second Gold Award for the park after taking out the inaugural gong in the same category in 2019, cements their reputation as a must-stay place when travelling the Queensland coast.

Mt Larcom Tourist Park nudged out a former Gold winner, Valley View Caravan Park in Victoria’s King Valley (Silver Award) and the Charters Towers Tourist Park (Bronze) in Queensland’s Townsville region, to take the title.

The Grey Nomad Awards shine a light on regional Australia by showcasing the very best places to stay and play, while supporting positive aging through soft adventure and social inclusion.

With rigorous judging by mature-age tourism professionals, some of whom have experienced the grey nomad lifestyle personally, plus second-tier auditing, social analysis and due diligence, Mt Larcom Tourist Park’s win has the credence of the tourism sector.
While this family owned and run park adjacent to the Bruce Highway has a small selection of powered sites, it has so much to offer with six and a half glorious acres of gorgeous gardens, a large bushland-styled unpowered section, and amazing views of Mt Larcom from the sunrise lookout at the top of the park.

The modern amenity block, stunning gardens, contemporary camp kitchen, log fire pits and solar lighting make this dog-friendly van park a relaxing, welcoming and interesting stay. It is also where you will find bush poets, birds and barbecues. Australians aged over 55 represent one of the biggest opportunities in domestic tourism.
