Cairns: The Gateway To The Tip

Every trip needs a starting point and for us it was the beautiful NRMA Cairns Holiday Park.

Located smack bang in the middle of two World Heritage sites – the Great Barrier Reef and the Daintree Rainforest, this park couldn’t be more central.

Offering guests the full range from unpowered sites, powered sites – for big and small caravans, ensuite sites up to some cosy, well-kept cabins, the NRMA Cairns Holiday Park is a welcoming site for a weary traveller or a great place to rest before embarking on that big trip to the pointy end.

The park facilities are 2nd to none with free wifi, kiosk, immaculate camp kitchen and bbq area, swimming pool, laundry, dump point, and a large, fully stocked tourist information centre where you can book local tours for just about everything.

Cairns itself is a major city with loads of restaurants and plenty of shopping to keep the city sticker in us alive but it’s location between those two world heritage sites that makes this place super special and we recommend the NRMA Cairns Holiday Park as your starting point.
