Ford Ranger and Everest recall: 20,000 vehicles to undergo transmission repairs
In an urgent recall underway, Ford hopes to inspect and fix a transmission part on more than 20,000 vehicles sold up until October last year.
The recall covers the Ford Ranger MY2017-2019 (sold between 19 December 2017 to 15 October 2019) and the Ford Everest MY2018-2019 (sold between 30 May 2018 to 16 October 2019).
WHAT PROMPTED THE RECALL?
According to the recall notice, drivers could lose motive power if the transmission fluid gears fail while driving.
“This may increase the risk of an accident and may result in serious injury to vehicle occupants and/or other road users.”
WHAT TO DO IF YOUR VEHICLE IS AFFECTED?
Ford says it will contact owners affected by the recall to arrange for an inspection and repair, free of charge.
