Whale Watching – A Maryborough Must

You can’t stay in Maryborough Queensland without taking the very short trip to Hervey Bay to see the humpback whales migrating. Roadstar’s Ken Nazim and his daughters selected the very luxurious Freedom III Whale Watching catamaran to do just that.

The family-owned and operated Freedom III took us out for a wonderful day watching whales their natural habitat.   This beautiful 58-foot catamaran boasts an on-board chef who provides morning and afternoon tea and a delicious tropical buffet lunch.

360-degree whale viewing on all 3 levels gives passengers the best vantage points, plus a water-level viewing area gets you as close to the underwater action as possible.

After a little cruising and some very interesting information about the history of the region, offered by a crew member we were confronted with one of the most amazing sites – a pod of beautiful whales.

We love coming to this area for so many reasons, but none more so than to see these beautiful creatures.
