What an ACE way to celebrate an Aussie tennis legend – Yvonne Goolagong!
The 13.8 metre long tennis racquet was erected to celebrate the 100th year of Barellan, NSW. Evonne, a Wirajuri woman, grew up in Barellan and is widely regarded as one of the all-time greats of women’s tennis. Evonne’s family were Barellan’s only Aboriginal family at the time, and her tennis career began with a racquet carved from a fruit crate by her dad and a tennis dress sewn from a sheet by her mum. The people of Barellan pitched in to help Evonne by lending her tennis racquets, driving her to tournaments, donating clothes and raising money for coaching. What an inspiring story of a town encouraging and celebrating the wins of one of their own!

Known Lights = Sanity
Miranda posted: Labelling my lights to save my sanity. Any idea what the unlabelled ones are for? I Can’t figure it out. The five switch is above the stove and the three switch is by the van door above the step. (Help was given and sanity preserved.)
Remove those marks!
Bruce asked: Hi, what will get fine scratches and marks off the shiny outside of our Enforcer?? Tia
(A range of answers, car polish, just rub them off, caused by hard water, re-po paint doctor.)

Scupper v Silicone
Melissa posted: Bought a second hand Supreme Trail and can’t figure out what this hatch is for. It has been siliconed shut by previous owner (with lots and lots of silicone lol). Does anyone know? Can we take silicone off and use for a security camera to go up when stopped and in when travelling?
(Answer was a Scupper Vent, they can leak, but they do work when on dirt roads.)

Mesh Me!
Carol posted: We are thinking of putting a mesh basket on top of our toolbox on our Treville. Has anyone done anything similar? Can you share pics.
Wendie replied: We have put one on and love it. Very handy for rubbish, wood and dirty things, and posted this photo.
Screw Loose
Spin 020 requiring information on how to get to the screw fasteners that hold the blind/screen to the caravan walls… obviously some have come loose.
Dave replied Flip the top and bottom open (away from window) and there is a screw right in each of the corners.

Bed Perfect
Greig posted: Getting ready to use our new to us 2019 Silverline for the first time. Having owned a Silverline previously as well as a motorhome we know the one thing that needs work is the bed. We went for a look at the Nambour Caravan and Camping show on Friday and purchased an “adjuster bed”. Now it’s just like home, except the van has a vibrating function…. woop woop…. Who else has one?

Day Good, Night Bad
Barry asked: Can someone advise why 12.1 volts is indicated while the batteries are full? I have 3 x 140amp hour agm batteries. Everything works off roof top solar during the day however the voltage drops massively after dark. Answer from others who have had the same problem was to check the batteries.)

Sweaty Box
Linda posted: We have a large box on the front of the van that is sweating, has condensation on all surfaces. Has anyone else found/made a solution? We are considering drilling holes. We had a DampFree in the box which did collect an inch of liquid in 2 weeks.
Answer was to put air vents or drill holes in the side of the box.
Strap My Tank!
Ross posted: A different solution to the worry about tank brackets breaking. The brackets on our 2018 SR19s looked ok but this was just a precaution for peace of mind. The straps are tensioned lightly to support the tanks in probably unlikely event of a failure of a strap or tank mount weld.
OUCH!!!
Samantha posted: Driving today on the M1 headed south to SA, this happened truck passing us took our fridge vent cover.
Weights Spot On.
Janelle posted: We just had our van weighed at home, can’t recommend this company enough!! He really knew his Stuff. Adelaide based.

Robyn posted: Cow eating cars out here can be dangerous in outback QLD
Film = Paint Protection
Greg posted: Paint protection film installed on the front in preparation for the Gibb River Road in June. A bit of an experiment, so it will be interesting to see how it goes.

Diesel Help
Ross wanted some information on putting a diesel heater in his Aussiemate.
Lee-Ann said Our diesel heater was installed pre-build and is under the club lounge/bed on the door side. Outlet is under the table so it takes a while to warm the whole van of a morning. I think it’s a Webasto. The fuel tank is located on the back left of the van. Absolutely love it.
Easy Peasy – NOW
Luke posted: We’ve been struggling to lift our bed which is fitted with mattress topper and doona. Replaced the gas struts which helped a bit but couldn’t be relied on to hold the bed up. Fitted a couple of linear actuators and removed the gas struts. Works a treat!
My Blinker wont Blink
Paul posted: My right blinker isn’t working , are these a sealed unit ?
Solution – it turns out the lead itself was squashed and that wire broken about 30 CM back from the van plug, an auto electrician found it for Paul.
Foggy View
John posted: We were fogged in last night, but managed to get this
What a super individual view of the Aurora Australis.
