Meet the collaborators – SA’s Driving Force

Beautiful SA is worthy of a lap. Meet the collaborators spreading the word

Holidaymakers are ‘lapping up’ South Australia’s caravan parks at a rate that’s earning them the lion’s share of overnight bookings of any accommodation class within the State. And why not? South Australia has some epic caravan parks offering beachfront camping on Adelaide’s shores; luxury stays alongside iconic tracks; the freshest fish and chips famously savoured in flip-flops on a patch of grass.

Not forgetting the onsite fossicking, wine tastings, glorious geological tours, helicopter flights, outdoor cinemas, restaurant dining on paddle steamers and more.

A Big Message

The breadth of experience varies as broadly as the landscape–it’s a big message to share.

Thankfully, the State’s caravan industry and tourism bodies, SA Parks and the Caravan & Camping Industry Association of South Australia (CCIASA), vow to collaborate, so travellers can safely explore all of South Australia’s treasures at their own pace as they please.

“SA Parks members and CCIASA members share some of the same market … As such, there’s room for collaboration between SA Parks and CCIASA,” explains Fiona Williams, CEO SA Parks.

A Wider culture

Fiona believes the foundations are there: “There has been unparalleled co-operation between each of the State Associations and the National Body. There is a great sharing of common information minimising duplication in many areas.”

Incoming CCIASA CEO Phil Sinnott sees it among members, adding that diversity, hard work and innovation fostered resilience amid the pandemic pressures. “A collaborative approach by members continues to drive favourite growth and a healthy State and National industry profile.”

It’s a solid cultural basis to support the industry as it matures and embraces new opportunities.
