Generate your own water and power in the Kokoda Counterstrike Vincere

The Kokoda Counterstrike Vincere family flagship truly is something to behold. More than just an aspirational curiosity to draw the crowds, the Vincere is a coordinated investment in off-grid independence for Kokoda’s evolving range. In fact, General Manager of Operations Michael Richards reckons there’s probably 30 innovations within the newly-released luxury off-grider launched at the Victorian Supershow that will find a home across the range in the coming years–just as the XCORE panel construction, walk-in robe and the laundry chute from the original Counterstrike released in 2022 have in recent years.

Off-Grid Water Generation

Inclusions like the chemical-free incinerator toilet that eliminates dump point runs, comforts centrally controlled by a Garmin Smart Interface and a newly-designed tougher but lighter truss chassis will help redefine our camping expectations. While power off-grid levels up with the three-tiered 7.3kW solar array riding atop of the dual-side hard awnings and a silent 8kW generator developed in-house.

But the pièce de résistance is the reverse osmosis recycling system that catches the grey water, converting it into pure water molecules 10 times–offering 1500L of instantaneous hot and cold water ‘per cycle’ from a 150L freshwater tank. It’s supported by a water generator extracting up to 150L of clean filtered water daily from the air.

Handcrafted Curved Stone

According to Michael, Kokoda spent 18 months refining the Counterstrike Vincere, collaborating with designers in-house, local and globally, appraising mood boards to finetune the aesthetic in this 23ft family van. Curved Corian stone benchtops cut by a French artisan employed in-house for the portable induction cookers; wall lights; a grand ceiling to floor shower screen that opaques at the push of a button and beautiful soft lighting impregnated within the SoundSheild acoustic panels all elevate the overall look and feel. A grand setting for the full king-size reclining massage bed.

Indoor-Outdoor Pantry

Setting up camp is easier too, thanks to the 360° camera system, the Black Jack Trailer Jack automated jockey wheel and horizon-controlled airbags leveling the van. Indoors we see a Sony surround sound cinema and projector and ducted 5kW cooling and heating with adjustable vents. This teams with internal dimmable and toggled bug-proof lighting, concealed steps under the bed and a smart indoor-outdoor pantry that point to Kokoda’s own camping culture, culminating in a design that’s both unlike anything in the market yet incredibly fitting. Outdoors, the hardtop solar awning shelters a pleasant, comprehensive stainless steel kitchen, incorporating camping luxuries like a coffee machine, dishwasher and airfryer, and an 80L slide-out fridge freezer complementing the internal 274L fridge.

Integrates with the EV

Power-wise, Kokoda takes quite a leap with the Vincere, with that 7.3kW of solar up top replenishing a 20kW battery system (scalable to 30kW) comprising Victron appliances and Baintech batteries. Kokoda developed the complex solar management system that can feed this back into an EV tow vehicle plus work with a 10kW inverter, allowing multiple high-powered appliances to operate concurrently. Campers can access the full array at camp through fore and aft awning extensions–or partially on the road without lowering the performance of the exposed panels.

Shaving the Kilos

To counter the 400+kilos in this power system, Kokoda focussed on finding efficiencies in the Vincere elsewhere–starting with 150 kilos from the newly designed truss chassis working together with 38mm one-piece composite construction and that clever water system. All up, a massive suite of innovations that will not only deliver a premium five-star touring experience today but promises greater comforts for all Kokoda caravans, of all size and ambition in the coming years.
