A Great Escape with Lumberjack

Make the most of your weekends with Lumberjack Sorento Series II, easy to stow, pack and go

Are you constantly eyeing off Fridays? Our crews always try to get away whenever we can. But 48 hours leaves you little time to sufficiently savour your navel: you need to act fast to squeeze in a cheeky weekend camp. This is the fundamental appeal of Lumberjack’s new Sorento Series II, a nifty pod camper that delivers less work and more play–just add a duffle bag, milk, eggs, bread, bacon and a few frothies and you’re done.

The perfect premium pod camper for couples for families who love camping!

Pack & Go

As shown here, one of three major prizes in our Biggest Competition Ever, the Sorento Series II is ready for a couple or solo traveller. But there’s enough payload on the axle, and notably the roof, to support two more in the optional rooftop tent above. It’s a pretty tough package, after all. The key to this fast getaway is the Sorento’s rear external pantry, adjacent to a two-burner pull-out cooktop. The large alloy door fitted with automotive seal lifts to reveal a sink with a drainer and cupboards that are a cinch to pack. There’s plenty of room for prepacked plastic storage tubs on the bench. It’s equally easy at camp, with just a few hoses to hook up and you’re done.

Track Ready

With a Tare average starting from 1,275kg, coupled with an uptick tail, the single-axle Sorento Series II promises lots off-road from the get-go. The 16in steel six-stud rims shod here in Goodride LT Muddies (upgradeable to Goodyear ATs) track nicely behind popular 4WD tow vehicles thanks to the narrow 1.85m towing width and 2.1m towing height, or 2.5m with the tent up top. Underneath it’s solid, with hot-dipped galvanised underpinnings and 12in electric brakes.

There’s also a 360° articulating Cruisemaster DO35 coupling up front and checker-plate shielding the sides and the 80L and 40L water tank. The a-frame-mounted tool boxes housing the optional 69L myCOOLMAN dualzone fridge included in our giveaway promotion (or the optional 95L for that matter) are sheltered by a heavy-duty stone guard. This also protects a diesel fuel tank, secondary hot and cold water outlets for a shower, twin 9kg gas bottle holders and a jerry can holder.
