The Facebook Team at Quell dispels a common myth about fire 

Did you know that a fire is dark? Unlike what you see in the movies when a fire breaks out, a fire will start out bright, then the combustion process will quickly produce thick black smoke which will cause complete darkness.

Even with lights on, it will still be dark and this can happen very quickly in a modern home.
