Maurice posted: Home (Port Augusta in SA) after maiden voyage to visit lil Bro in Sydney, including a stop over in RC Albury for some repairs.
Learnings:
– too long a trip for the time allowed. Ended up having to drive 600 plus km’s some days with no time to look around.
– Gibb towed beautifully and can be reversed easily into tight spots. Plenty of room inside for 2 of us. Comfy bed, plenty storage. Kickass fridge.
– seemed to tow a bit better with both water tanks full?
– RC service brilliant, thanks Jason (Steve) at Albury!
– RC family is brilliant, thanks for your help and advice on this page!
– didn’t plug into power at all, solar plus batteries beaut system.
– I’m not sure the BMP Odyssey water measurements are accurate?
– WikiCamps invaluable, reviews spot on
Now the cleaning begins, ready for next trip

Here is a quick guide on how to How To Reduce The Chance of Overheating of Your Entertainment Unit. By turning the AMP on, you are also turning on a fan that helps reduce the chance of overheating. As the entertainment unit has a working screen and other components it’s normal for it to be lukewarm. Any questions, please feel free to reach out.

Kerri posted: Only having our bunkie for a couple weeks we added a blackout curtain to create a room for the kids and also extra privacy room to get dressed after a shower or swim.
Louise posted: Before and after shots of the cooker cavity. We removed our swift gas cooker last year because of safety issues. Have replaced it with a two burner cook top, and storage cupboard.

Richard posted: Just a quick one are these meant to be flat when up, as mine faces up a bit due to being on sloop of roof and I presume the pointy end faces towards the tower thanks.
Basically, the answer was yes, the TV aerial should be flat. Alison

The previous red colour had faded and it’s shine couldn’t be maintained. For a fairly new van it was looking sad. I’m happy with the way the wrap went and I can be proud of the van again.

Doug posted: Anyone done a swap and go with their gas bottles? I’ve just exchanged mine (usually refill) and when I tried to fit them in found the little [one] too fat and not letting me lock them in, although very tight and secure. Asking for a friend
After many replied Doug posted: Thanks everyone, sorry for wasting your time, my friend had a better look and found he had enough thread to adjust. Saves lost gas bottles.

Matt posted: Anyone had their Swift gas electric hot water leaking continuously from the pressure relief valve? Keeps leaking when no hot water in tank. Only stops once mains pressure switched off. Has left a huge wet patch under the van.

Bo posted: Be careful out on the road people, lots of trees and branches falling. This was at Knowsley, on the McIvor highway, Victoria last Saturday arvo. I was ok, but the car wasn’t. Glad I didn’t have the caravan on and no one else in the car. Safe travelling..

Terry posted: Totally love this. Caravan camping ‘oldskool’, when life was simpler and people weren’t so needy. No need to cart all-electric conveniences around the countryside, or spend a fortune on unnecessary ‘off-road’ fad gear. Enjoying the great outdoors was the objective, so you just hooked up and went, with resolve to simply overcome any obstacles you might encounter. I have so much more respect for this style of camping than for what we all too commonly see nowadays

Alana posted: My sister Vivienne gave me this girl who she rescued from going to the tip!! she needed a good clean and some TLC, and obviously a new dress!! So I made her a new outfit from a vintage doll dress pattern I happened to have! I think she has turned out quite nicely! As Viv says “from rags to riches”

Important Announcement.
Vanilla Slices v Cornish Pasties
Steve and Maria tested both the Vanilla and French Vanilla Slices at Bakery 31. Ross TAS. They put the slices in the van for later as they ‘pigged out’ on Cornish Pasties. The photo is of them eating the Cornish Pasties. For reference the actual Ross Bakery is closed Monday and Tuesday. The verdict: French vanilla wins, pastie ordinary.
