Huge growth in NSW Caravan & Camping Holidays!

Caravan and camping holidays in NSW continue to grow in popularity, with a huge 26% increase in the number of holiday nights taken in the year ending September 2016 according to figures recently released by Tourism Research Australia.

Caravan and camping holidays continue to spearhead the State’s domestic visitor night growth, with almost 16.9 million nights spent caravan and camping in the past year.

“These are amazing figures which show how Australians’ love of a caravan or camping holiday continues its rapid rise”  Caravan & Camping Industry Association (CCIA) CEO, Lyndel Gray said.

“These growth figures reflect the positive impact of a new TV campaign which was run by CCIA NSW during the July/August period.  The ads, which aired state-wide, inspired people to consider a caravan and camping holiday and spend quality time with family and friends in amazing NSW locations.”

“We see from the overall domestic results that couples and families are increasingly engaging with caravan and camping holidays and more people are travelling with children, which reflects what our members are also seeing in their parks.

“Many of our parks offer fantastic family friendly holiday options with facilities like water slides, play areas and pools, tennis courts, kayak, canoe and bike hire, entertainment and some even have kids clubs.

“The great thing about holiday parks in NSW is that they offer something for everyone and every style of traveller. You can pitch a tent, drive up with your caravan, motorhome or camper trailer,  or you can stay in a luxury cabin or safari -tent with all the comforts of home,  in amazing locations throughout the State.

“NSW offers some of the best caravan and camping holidays possible and we are looking forward to welcoming even more people to our parks in the coming year.”
