Point Labatt’s Coastal Colonies

Just a short drive from Streaky Bay, are the eye-catching cliffs of Point Labatt. At Point Labatt not only will you find incredible views, but as it is also one of the only mainland breeding colonies for the Australian Sea Lion population, you can witness these mammals in their natural habitat from the cliff top viewing area.

The Australian Sea Lion is Australia’s least numerous seal species and one of Australia’s most endangered marine mammals. Point Labatt is one of the few places in and around Australia where they are protected from land predators and which provides a safe environment for the sea lion pups to develop.
